In the harbour town Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife there’s an old botanical garden (1788).
It is a true treasury: this Jardín de Aclimatación de La Orotava. It has a classic layout, and is filled with tropical and subtropical trees and plants that will amaze you.
Impressive exotic tropical and sub-tropical plants over here, with flowers in all forms and colours.
Trees with amazing structures…
In the centre of the garden, grows a very strange and a bit horrifying tree, the Coussapoa Dealbata from South America, with a lot branches that become trunks again.
Callandria with busy bee (or wasp?).
Look twice and you’ll see the gekko!
Sunlight playing with palms and pine apple.
Triangle forms (Colletia cruciata) and curly ferns.
I composed this flatlay from path findings, collected from the garden floor. 🍃
